STEP 1. ENTERING A PROJECT
- Click MY FILMTRACKER
- Click MY PROJECTS
- Click ADD A NEW PROJECT NOW. This will begin the 4 step process of entering a project starting with:
- Enter GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Project Title (Required)
- Type (Required) - Feature film, internet series, MOW, Novel, Novella, Short Film, Stage Play, TV Series, Miniseries
- Genres (Optional) - Select up to 3
- Project Status (Required) - In development, in preproduction, in production, in postproduction, available, released
- Status (free text; Optional) - Anything else you’d like to add about the status (such as ‘active development’ or ‘partially funded’)
- Start Date (Optional) - When principal photography is anticipated to begin
- Release Date (Optional) - If applicable; applies to domestic theatrical release
- Open Writing/Open Directing (Optional) - IMPORTANT:
Check these boxes ONLY if your project is actively seeking
to hire a writer or director!
- Budget (Optional)
- Publish My Project! (Optional) - EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Check this box ONLY if you want your material placed in the FilmTracker Marketplace!
- Logline (Optional) - 2-3 sentences about your project
- Keywords (Optional) - Open text, comma-separated keywords to help other members search for your material (Example: ‘fish-out-of-water, spy, haunted house’
- Short Summary (Optional) - 1 page summary of the project
- Details (Optional) - Additional details, such as awards, reviews, etc.
- Location (Optional) - Shooting locations for the project
- Click CONTINUE
- Edit CREDITS - Add people (including yourself), and companies that were/are involved in your project

NOTE: You can only add people and companies to your project if they are in your Rolodex.
- Click ADD PERSON CREDIT or ADD COMPANY CREDIT
- SEARCH for the PERSON/COMPANY to add from your Rolodex
- Select the PERSON/COMPANY and choose their CREDIT, STATUS and ROLE (if an actor)
- Click SAVE and CLOSE THIS WINDOW if you are finished adding credits
- If you’d like to add more credits, click CONTINUE
- CONTENT MANAGER
- This step is OPTIONAL..
- This is where you add content (media files) to your project. Click here for more information on entering content and content manager.
- Content can be a screenplay, Cover Art (for books), Ebook files, Final Cut (video file), Manuscript, One Sheet, Play, Teaser, Teleplay, Trailer or treatment
- We accept the following file formats: asf, asx, avi, doc, gif, html, jpg, mov, mpeg, pdf or txt
- Content files can be no more than 10MB
- To skip this entering content, click CONTINUE
- Each content you add to a project costs $19.95
