I've Got an Idea for a Movie...
Written by Michael J. Patwin, Jr.
The Writer's Bio
After graduating from the
North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Filmmaking in ’97, Michael towed
a U-Haul trailer cross country and wound up in Hollywood, working for Trilogy
Entertainment and Pen Densham (Robin Hood, Houdini) as a creative writing
assistant. After his stint as a slave to the machine, Michael abandoned conventional
wisdom, hunkered down and wrote spec work while supporting himself with various,
laborious, odd jobs: picking cotton, white-washing fences, reading Samuel Clemmons
to underprivileged executives. The prayers and spec work finally paid off –
Michael’s recently adapted a NY Times best-selling novel, sold his first script
(which goes into production 9/00) and has projects in development with A Band
Apart (Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting) and Lion Rock Entertainment (Face
Off, MI2). Quote – “Faith without works is dead.”
